Even newer on the scene from a diving perspective is Panama. Though our time there was limited, one of the dive operations took us by boat (they must get their boats from the same place as the Belizeans and Hondurans) out to some heavily fished reefs within the chain of islands off Bocas Del Toro, the main dive destination on the Caribbean side.

When I went, visibility was poor - around 30 ft, 10m due to a heavy run-off from storms the day before. I saw lots of macro life (tons of spiny starfish wrapped around the coral) but with less of the large shoals of fish found elsewhere in the Caribbean. The coral seemed in decent shape, though.
